Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro added to women’s trail bike roster, now full carbon

The 2021 Liv Intrigue 29 has, until now, only been available as a complete aluminium frame. The 125mm trail bike is offered in two aluminium build models, both of which make use of a torsionally stiff composite linkage. Now, Liv add two new adjustable geometry full carbon options into the mix with the 2021 Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro. Intrigued? Let’s check it out.

As we saw on the earlier aluminium Intrigue, the new Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro offers adjustable geometry so riders can tailor the bike to the terrain.

Let’s take the medium frame as an example. In the “high” setting, the carbon Liv Intrigue runs a fabulously steep 77.8° seat tube angle and a healthy head angle of 66.5°. Already, that’s pretty progressive geometry for a short travel bike. The reach sits at 438mm and the BB drops 30mm from the dropouts.

You’re at the trail centre but there are some tasty off-piste tracks on offer. Enter, the flip-chip. A two minute trail side fix switches the bike’s geometry into the “low” setting. Now the geometry is more geared toward descending than climbing.

Your medium frame Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro now sports a slacker 77° seat angle. The 140mm fork sits at a slacker 65.8° head angle. Reach is shorter at 430mm. The BB is now lower, dropping 40mm from the dropouts.

The flip-chip also affects the bike’s standover height, dropping it from 741mm to 732mm. This should give the rider more room to throw shapes about the cockpit when the trail gets rowdy.

What about these new carbon models?

\"new

The 2021 Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro 29 1 model is priced at $5,400 USD ($9,799 CAD / € 8,500). For that, you get a Chameleon Mars carbon frame with a 140mm travel Fox 36 Float Performance Elite fork with FIT4 damper. The rear wheel travel is serviced by a Fox Float DPS Performance shock, custom tuned for Liv.

A SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain pushes a Giant TRX-1 carbon wheelset. Braking comes from SRAM G2 R brakes.

Liv offer an Advanced Pro 29 2 model – still full carbon but with a more budget friendly spec list. It gets a RockShox Pike Select fork and a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock. It runs a SRAM NX Eagle group and rolls on Giant’s TRX-2 29 wheelset. Stopping is serviced by 4-piston Shimano MT520 brakes. Pick this one up for $3,200 USD (€ 4,500 / $5,299 CAD).

The top end Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro 0 isn’t available in the US, but retails at $9,799 CAD (€ 8,500) in Canada and Europe.
