A Ride Through Stanley Park Under Lockdown

Here’s my POV cam of a lap cycling around Vancouver’s beautiful Stanley Park in May 2020. With the city still under Covid-19 lockdown, parks have been closed to general public use, but cycling is still allowed. So the 10km road around the park usually packed with cars, is now the longest cycling-friendly loop in the city.

I layered in some music and my own commentary of the hilights, and added a few pics below, but you really need to watch the video on a bigger screen for the full effect.

The 10km loop around the park has been closed to cars and the general public for several weeks – but open to cyclists.

A few barriers are in place to slow riders, but only on the park’s one descent.

I used the K-Edge Wahoo Element mount for my GoPro as well.  It’s a sturdy aluminum mount that easily takes the weight of both devices.

A small detour to English Bay reveals the city’s most crowded park – not everyone is observing safe social distance.
