PRO Tharsis lightens up oval dropper post, adds 4 carbon MTB bars & wild integrated eMTB bar

PRO has a host of new mountain bike components to build up your new trail cockpit from both their lightweight cross-country / down country Tharsis and more all-mountain / enduro Koryak families. With two different approaches to the dropper seatpost and a total of five new handlebars, the standouts are a unique oval slider Tharsis XC dropper and a wild-looking integrated Korayk E-Performance carbon e-bike specific handlebar.

PRO Tharsis 100mm lightweight oval XC dropper seatpost

Arguably the most interesting & unique of the new PRO MTB components coming for MY2021 is the lightweight, short travel PRO Tharsis 100mm is surprisingly short on technical details.

\"PRO

What we do know is that it was developed as a light, race-ready dropper with just 100mm of travel, and is destined for XC, down-country & gravel bikes.

\"PRO

The internally-routed dropper uses a new for PRO 3D-forged alloy two-bolt head layout and a unique oval slider to get the most out of the light design, with all alloy internals. The oval shape is said to increase stiffness & smooth action, while also helping to eliminate side-to-side play.

\"PRO

With titanium bolts, the 400mm long Tharsis 100 dropper claims a weight of 415g (15% lighter than the lightest Koryak droppers), and is available in 27.2, 30.9 & 31.6mm diameters. Retail price is $330 / 330€, with availability slated for November 2020 for the two larger diameters, spring 2021 for the 27.2 post.

PRO Koryak 150mm large diameter 34.9mm trail & enduro dropper

\"PRO

The other new PRO dropper is just a larger diameter Koryak to fit the latest crop of 34.9mm trail, all-mountain & enduro mountain bikes. With the same 0mm offset 1-bolt head as the rest of its family and internal routing, the new 34.9 Koryak 150mm travel dropper sells for $300 / 300€. Like the new Tharsis, it also has a “serviceable” (replaceable?) alloy cartridge.

Pro Tharsis 3Five light 35mm oversized carbon MTB handlebars

\"Pro

On the carbon mount bike bars front, there are four more options for lightweight XC & trail riding with the new 35mm oversized clamping area.

\"Pro
Flat Top, Flat, Mini Rise, High Rise (top to bottom)

Stiff & light, PRO Tharsis 3Five 35mm oversized carbon handlebars now come in five total varieties: Flat 0mm, Flat Top 5mm, Mini Rise 10mm (which also comes in alloy), the original Rise, and new High Rise 30mm. The Flat version sells for 140€, while the other three are all 150€.

\"\"

Together with the $110 / 100€ 7050 alloy, +/-9° oversized Tharsis 3Five stem (in 60-100mm lengths), PRO offers plenty of MTB bar options for everything from XC racing to all-around trail riding.

eMTB-specific PRO Koryak E-Performance integrated carbon bar+stem

\"eMTB-specific

Dubbed “the world’s first integrated handlebar/stem/grip” by PRO, the eMTB-specific Koryak E-Performance cockpit is designed to neatly integrate an e-bike computer with a recess area in the middle section and work with e-bike-specific grips.

\"eMTB-specific

Catering to premium eMTB riders looking to step up their cockpit game, the PRO Koryak E-Performance builds the Shimano STePS display into the stem of the one-piece carbon cockpit – out of harm’s way. It’s not the simplest looking solution using the regular bar-mounted display, but should appeal to riders looking to declutter. Interestingly it could also be a solution for Di2 riders looking for an integrated carbon mountain bike riser bar setup.

\"eMTB-specific

The PRO Koryak E-Performance bar is 800mm wide, with an effective 65mm stem extension, generous 11° backsweep & 20mm rise. The $500 integrated carbon bar combo also includes a pair of contoured lock-on grips meant to match Shimano eMTB switch paddles.

All of the new MY21 PRO MTB components (excluding the 27.2 Tharsis dropper) will be available in November 2020.
